On 6 October 2012, The House, one of Barbados’ premier west coast hotels, will unveil its new look following an extensive five month refurbishment. The boutique, adult-only, 34 suites hotel will showcase contemporary interior designs as well as fabulous new room décor, complete with local handcrafted Bajan artwork. These intricate developments, along with the introduction of a new one bedroom suites concept and the hotel’s 24-hr ambassador programme, ensure that guests staying at The House can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere that captures the essence of the Caribbean lifestyle and creates a ‘home from home’ environment.

The relaxed residential feel of The House, already a key draw in the hotel’s public areas, will be extended to each of the bedrooms with an emphasis on the bespoke wooden furniture, including new seating areas and French doors opening on to breathtaking ocean views from spacious balconies.

all bathrooms will be refreshed with new granite surfaces, makeup mirrors, indulgent rain showers and state of the art shower jets. Soft lighting throughout the property will enhance the cosy ambience and tranquillity of the property, offering guests an intimate and private haven whilst on the stunning island of Barbados.

 The House Ambassadors

Service is a key component of the ‘home from home’ environment that The House offers and is best exemplified by its dedicated The House Ambassador programme. Upon arrival, The House Ambassadors are constantly on hand to look after guests’ every wish and desire. From the initial in-room check-in, the ambassadors become a guest’s personal assistant, bellman, concierge, waiter and friend all in one. The intimacy of The House means that the ambassadors know what guests want before they do; from providing poolside ice lollies and chilled water to sunworshippers, to booking personal shopping services at Limegrove Lifestyle Centre, a round of golf at Ape’s Hill or treatments at the Tamarind Spa, they make it their mission to ensure guests don’t have to lift a finger, unless they want to.Appointment of a new GM at The House

Ahead of the reopening, Elegant Hotels Group has announced the appointment of Joanna Roterberg as the new general manager of The House. With 16 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Joanna has gained an extensive understanding of the luxury hotel sector having previously held a number of senior positions in exclusive hotels around Barbados including Sandy Lane Hotel. Commenting on her new role Joanna said:“I am really looking forward to my new position as GM of The House, especially at such an exciting time with the unveiling of the fabulous refurbishment. We have a busy time ahead of us and I will be working with the rest of the Elegant Hotels Group team in planning our strategy for the hotel following its refurbishment.”
