Driving the ‘American Dream’ is wheely impressive with enough room for 75 passengers and facilities that include a pool, jacuzzi and helipad
Measuring a whopping 100ft and 1.5 inches (30.54 meters) in length, 'The American Dream' super limo is the longest car in the world, having originally been built 35 years ago. Now refurbished to an impeccable standard befitting an entry into the Guinness Book of Records, this extraordinary vehicle comes with features fit for a king, including a jacuzzi, mini-golf course, helipad and even a swimming pool with diving board.
Officially longest car in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records, the American Dream is ready to cruise. On 1 March 2022, the super limo rolled in at a length of 30.54 meters (100 ft and 1.50 in), breaking its 1986 record title by a small fraction - the refurbishment added a little length. The original custom build was completed in Burbank, California in 1986 by famous car customiser Jay Ohrberg. It measured 18.28 meters (60 feet), rolled on 26 wheels, and had a pair of V8 engines at the front and rear.
Ohrberg later extended the limo to an astounding 30.5 meters (100 feet) long. To put its immense size into perspective, most cars measure between 12 to 16 feet (3.6 to 4.2 meters).
The automobile was built in two sections, and based on the 1976 Cadillac Eldorado limousine.It can be driven from both ends and can also operate as a rigid vehicle. The American Dream can fit more than 75 people and is strong enough structurally tohold a helicopter on its helipad weighing up to five thousand pounds. Other luxury touches include several TVs, a refrigerator, and a telephone. A hinge joins the car’s two sections in the middle so it has no trouble turning tight corners, and it’s large size and extravagant features mean passengers can enjoy a luxurious ride.
